After the visit, we will have dinner in a restaurant, then we retire to the hotel for the day.
OPTIONAL TOUR: Ljubljana Castle with cable car and Ljubljanica boat ride.
After breakfast we set off from Ljubljana on the Gorenjska highway towards the "jewel of the Slovenian Alps", the city of Bled. After our arrival we will head to the lake and take a ride with a Pletna, which is a typical boat in Bled, and take a look at the island in the middle of the lake with a church on it. We will take a short drive around Lake Bled and take a guided walk to the castle above Bled. After the group visit of the castle, the lunch break follows. After lunch we will drive to Vintgar, a few kilometers from Bled, where we will take a walk along a beautiful 1.6 kilometer long river valley, shaped by the Radovna River. The tour continues to the largest glacial lake in the heart of the Julian Alps, Lake Bohinj. There we will walk around the lake for a photoshoot. You can see the Church of St. John the Baptist and the beautiful views of Lake Bohinj. Meet at the bus and return to Ljubljana, dinner at the restaurant.
After breakfast at the hotel, we will visit Postojna underground cave, the second largest tourist cave in the world, and admire its limestone formations such as stalagmites, stalactites, curtains, etc. Postojna Cave is a 20 km long karst cave system, a network of underground passages, galleries and chambers, visited by more than 33 million people in nearly 200 years. It is both the largest classical carst cave and the exhibition cave with the highest number of visitors in Europe. In 1872 railroad tracks were laid in the cave and in 1884 electricity was installed. Nowadays visitors can satisfy their curiosity by learning how the caves came into being, looking at the passages and chambers, and most importantly by looking at the stalagmites rising from the cave floor and the stalactites hanging from its roof. . After lunch we will continue to the coastal town of Zadar. Dinner at the restaurant and transfer to the hotel.
After breakfast at the hotel, we will drive to Split. When we reach Split, we will have free time for lunch (if you do the optional tour, free time for lunch is provided at Krka waterfalls) We will take a guided tour of Split. Split is one of the oldest cities in the region. Although traditionally considered to be just over 1,700 years old, from the construction of Diocletian's Palace in 305 CE, the city was actually founded as a Greek colony of Aspálathos in the 4th century BC, around 2400 years. We will head to Neum where we have dinner at the hotel.
OPTIONAL TOUR: Krka National Park. It is located in Šibenik-Knin County and covers a total area of 109 km² of the most beautiful sections of the Krka River and the lower reaches of the Čikola River. The national park is a large, mostly untouched area of outstanding natural value, comprising one or more ecosystems preserved or insignificantly altered.
After breakfast, we will drive to Dubrovnik, the "Pearl of the Adriatic", located on the Dalmatian coast, it became an important power of the Mediterranean Sea from the 13th century. Although badly damaged by an earthquake in 1667, Dubrovnik has managed to preserve its magnificent Gothic, Renaissance and Baroque churches, monasteries, palaces and fountains. We will take a guided tour of the historic city of Dubrovnik and have lunch in the city. Then we will head to Montenegro to visit the majestic Kotor. The ancient Mediterranean port of Kotor is surrounded by fortifications built in Venetian times. It is located on the Bay of Kotor (Boka Kotorska), one of the most indented parts of the Adriatic Sea. Some have called it the southernmost fjord in Europe, but it is an estuary, a submerged river canyon. With the almost overhanging limestone cliffs of Orjen and Lovćen, Kotor and its surroundings form an impressive and picturesque Mediterranean landscape. We will return to the hotel and have dinner at the hotel.
After breakfast we will drive to Mostar. The historic city of Mostar, which stretches across a deep valley of the Neretva River, developed in the 15th and 16th centuries as an Ottoman border town and during the Austro-Hungarian period in the 19th and 20th centuries. Mostar has long been known for its old Turkish houses and the old bridge, Stari Most, which gave it its name. It is part of the UNESCO heritage. We will take a guided tour of Mostar. After the visit, we will have lunch at the local restaurant. After lunch we will drive to Trogir, a historic town and port on the Adriatic coast in Split-Dalmatia County. The historic town of Trogir is located on a small island between the Croatian mainland and the island of Čiovo. Since 1997, the historic center of Trogir has been inscribed on the UNESCO list of World Heritage sites. After lunch we will take a guided tour through the streets of Trogir. We will go to a hotel in Trogir for dinner and rest.
After breakfast we will drive to Plitvice Lakes National Park. On the way to the park, we will go to a restaurant for lunch. Plitvice Lakes National Park is one of the oldest national parks in South East Europe and the largest national park in Croatia. In 1979, Plitvice Lakes National Park was added to the UNESCO World Heritage Register. We will take a guided tour of Plitvice Lakes. After the visit, we will drive to Zagreb, the capital of Croatia. Dinner at a local restaurant and check in at the hotel.
After breakfast we will take a guided tour of Zagreb. After free time for lunch - depending on your departure time - we can also head to the mall area for some last minute shopping.
We will transfer you to the airport and wish you a great flight home! It's a pleasure to see you again.
